For one last time in 2022, we will head into the weekend with a look at the Friday night NBA matchups to see what value we can find. This will be our last preview of 2022, with our next time out being after the calendar turns to 2023.

We’ll start with the game between Philadelphia 76ers and New Orleans Pelicans.

After hitting a four-game losing streak, the Pelicans have turned things around and are now owners of a four-game winning streak. Much of that success is down to ZION WILLIAMSONwho has scored 30+ points in three of those four wins, including a monster 43-point performance last time out as he took over and won the game late with crucial baskets and clutch free throws.

On the other side tonight, the 76ers saw their eight-game winning streak come to a halt at the hands of an unlikely foe. The Washington Wizards were able to hold off the 76ers and get the win, despite a heroic 48-point effort by Joel Embiid.

We should see both of these teams in action during the playoffs in a few months, and I think this has all the makings of an electric game between two bonafide All-Stars.

Zion Williamson should give the 76ers all they can handle and more tonight, and I don’t think they have the defenders that can shut down this generational talent. While PJ Tucker may have been an elite defender in the past, has caught up to him and he is not the player he once was.

In what should be a close game, I expect Zion to be up for a scoring duel with Joel Embiid, and would expect him to carry the load for the Pelicans. Playing the overs looks the way to go.

The other game I will look at tonight is between the Denver Nuggets and the visiting Miami Heat.

Denver has struggled to contain opposing guards, and that should present a problem for them this evening as TYLER HERRO is an exceptional talent for the Heat.

Herro is a phenomenal shooter who also possesses possess exceptional court vision, which allows him to create not only for himself but for his teammates as well. He is typically able to log big minutes and although he has failed to reach the 20-point plateau in each of his last two outings, I expect that to change tonight and think he can capitalize on a soft matchup.
