Monkey Knife Fight Advice: Week 9 (2022 Fantasy Football)

Welcome to Monkey Knife Fight. Monkey Knife Fight is one of the more intriguing entrants in the DFS arena. Instead of the traditional salary cap based contests, Monkey Knife Fight allows DFS players to put their fantasy football knowledge and predictive powers to the test.

They offer fantasy points and stat-based contests. Perhaps the most appealing of all of their offerings is the ‘More or Less’ contests. In these contests, you can choose whether a player will fall above or below totals for a preset combination of two to 10 players. Your win probability obviously goes down with the more players you add, but you receive an increased payout multiplier in exchange.

Since Monkey Knife Fight’s fantasy point and stat-based totals are dynamic, meaning the total, total type, and pairings change throughout the week, it is important to search for favorable and advantageous total pairings to exploit on a daily basis. Ideally, when choosing a total pairing, you want to feel extremely confident on one of the totals and feel strongly enough about the other total to proceed. This week we will take a look at two of the ‘More’ options that stood out the most for Week 9. Note that these are not locked in pairings, and may no longer be offered by the time you log in to make your picks.

Plays of the week

Rhamondre Stevenson (RB – NE): 65.5 rushing yards
Rhamondre Stevenson has been warming up for the New England Patriots. He has been operating as the lead back for most of the season and is averaging 69.8 rushing yards per game. That number spikes to 81 rushing yards per game when he sees double-digit carries, which is something that has occurred in each of his last six outings. 65.5 is a very attractive number for a More play, as Rhamondre has tallied at least 66 rushing yards in five of his last six games. This weekend he gets an Indianapolis Colts team surrendering 96.3 rushing yards per game to enemy running backs, and that has surrendered 92 or more rushing yards in four of their last five games. Roll with the More on Rhamondre for Week 9.
Prediction: More

Josh Jacobs (RB – LV): 80.5 rushing yards
Josh Jacobs has been one of the hottest running backs in the league over the last few weeks. He is averaging a robust 96.6 rushing yards per game but has really turned it on recently, posting 143 or more rushing yards in three of his last four games. Jacobs was held in check against New Orleans but will look to bounce back this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville has held opposing running backs to just 85 rushing yards per game, but deeper analysis reveals that number jumping to 99 rushing yards against backs producing at an RB1 level. Lock Jacobs in as a More play for Week 9 at MonkeyKnifeFight.
Prediction: More

Travis Etienne (RB – JAC): 80.5 rushing yards
Travis Etienne has caught fire for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has rushed for 86 or more yards in three straight contests and is looking every bit like the gamebreaker he was back at Clemson. Etienne sees his per-contest average spike to 94 rushing yards per game when he receives double-digit carries. This weekend he will face off against a Las Vegas Raiders team that still seems to be in disarray. However, Las Vegas is a team that gets torched through the air against the position and, as a result, has ‘held’ opposing running backs to just 84.6 rushing yards per game this season. The numbers suggest that this is an either-or proposition, but the recent form test puts the probability firmly behind the More for Week 9. Tap Etienne for your Week 9 early game slate at MonkeyKnifeFight.
