Mets are a ‘best fit’ for 3 pitchers on trade market, MLB insider says

Sometimes being the best isn’t good enough.

The New York Mets own the top record in the National League at 45-25. And they accomplished that despite a starting rotation that’s been decimated by injuries.

Aces Jacob deGrom (stress reaction in right shoulder) and Max Scherzer (strained oblique) are on the comeback trail. But given what’s happened so far this season, look for general manager Billy Eppler to target starting pitching ahead of the Aug. 2 trade deadline.
