Florida @ Georgia

Current Records: Florida 17-11; Georgia 6-22

What to Know

The Georgia Bulldogs are 3-10 against the Florida Gators since January of 2016, but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Saturday. UGA and Florida will face off in an SEC battle at noon ET at Stegeman Coliseum. The Bulldogs are out to stop a three-game losing streak at home.

UGA received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 91-77 to the Texas A&M Aggies. Guard Kario Oquendo did his best for UGA, finishing with 33 points (a whopping 43% of their total) in addition to seven boards. Oquendo didn’t help his team much against the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, so this was a nice turnaround for him. Oquendo’s points were the most he had all year.

Meanwhile, Florida came up short against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Tuesday, falling 82-74. The losing side was boosted by forward Colin Castleton, who had 29 points along with six rebounds.

The Bulldogs are expected to lose this next one by 9. Now might not be the best time to take UGA against the spread since they’ve let down bettors for the past four consecutive games.

The losses put UGA at 6-22 and Florida at 17-11. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: UGA has allowed their opponents an average of 8.2 steals per game, the 348th most in college basketball. To make matters even worse for UGA, the Gators come into the matchup boasting the 33rd most steals per game in college basketball at 8.4. In other words, the Bulldogs will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
