Juan Soto leaves early with apparent injury Monday
Juan Soto left Monday night’s game against the Braves with an apparent injury. Soto appeared to have tweaked something while fielding a grounder in the top of the ninth inning and was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the inning. (Source: Mark Zuckerman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: While the Nationals are going nowhere fast, Soto remains incredibly valuable to fantasy managers. Through 62 games, he is batting a disappointing .230 but does have 13 home runs, a .376 OBP, a .835 OPS, and five stolen bases, and his batted ball data remains elite. More information about Soto’s injury should be available shortly, so check back for updates.

Juan Soto hit his right knee against the dugout bench after slipping before the ninth inning.
He had a limp so Dave Martinez opted to pull him out of the game instead of having him bat in the bottom of the ninth.

Ozzie Albies fractures foot
Ozzie Albies was removed from the game Monday with a fractured left foot. (Source: Atlanta Braves on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Albies was removed from the game after an at-bat in the 5th inning, and now we know it’s because of a fracture in his foot. A more detailed timetable should be provided soon, but it looks like Albies will be on the shelf for a while regardless. He’s had a tough 2022 season, slashing .246 / .288 / .408 in 61 games.

Pablo Lopez to throw a bullpen on Monday
Pablo Lopez is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Monday. In his last start on June 11th, Lopez was forced to leave the game after taking a line drive off his right wrist. (Source: Jordan McPherson on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Lopez was removed from his start in Houston with an injury after 4 1/3 innings pitched. The 26-year-old is 4-2 through 12 starts, with a 2.30 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 9.21 K / 9, and 2.43 BB / 9. His 72 strikeouts rank 10th in the NL in 2022. Fantasy managers will await news as they hope Lopez does not have to miss any time with the wrist injury.

Stephen Strasburg heading back to the IL
Stephen Strasburg will not make his scheduled start tomorrow and will return to the injured list, according to Dave Martinez. (Source: Jesse Dougherty on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: The nature of Strasburg’s injury is unclear, but he reportedly felt “weird” after throwing a bullpen session and he’s currently getting an MRI. Martinez says the Nationals will know more tomorrow but in the meantime, if you were planning to start him this week, get him out of your lineups. And regardless, at this point, don’t plan on much from Strasburg for the remainder of the season.
