Boston hosting another Celtics watch party for NBA Finals Game 2

The city of Boston is once again offering a free NBA Finals watch party while the Celtics are still in San Francisco. Hundreds of people gathered at Faneuil Hall Thursday night for the Game 1 watch party. The Celtics had an eye-opening performance in Game 1, mounting a late rally in what was a historically dominant fourth quarter against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center The Game 2 watch party will also be held outside in Sam Adams Park, the area in front of Faneuil Hall where the Samuel Adams statue stands.One important note is that Game 2 starts at 8 pm, rather than the 9 pm start time for Game 1.Normally, the city’s sports watch parties would take place at City Hall Plaza . However, that area is currently undergoing renovations, so the city moved the festivities across the street.After Sunday’s Game 2 in San Francisco, Boston will host Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday, respectively, at TD Garden.Game 1 marked the first time in decades that the Celtics and Warriors faced each other in the NBA Finals. The last and only time the Celtics went up against the Warriors in the Finals was the 1963-1964 season, when the Golden State Warriors were the San Francisco Warriors. That series saw two superstars face off, as it was the first time NBA legends Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain met in the Finals.
